Virtual Lab Integration

The goal of this eCampus Ontario funded initiative is to assess the potential impact of web-based, 3-D virtual lab technology when deployed in a range of online and technology-enhanced learning course contexts.

[New] – Final Report – April, 2018

Through the primary project activities, a team of collaborating instructors will focus on providing active learning opportunities through high quality virtual lab activities and assessing the outcomes of implementation across the dimensions of learning outcomes, student experience, faculty observations and operational implications. The focus for the pilot initiative will be in the biology disciplines. Primary activities will include:

  • Building instructor capacity to integrate virtual labs within their curriculum
  • Planning for digital learning environment integration, TA and student support
  • Evaluation and sharing project outputs as a community resource

In August 2017, instructors from the Human Biology program have secured additional licence seats through the eCampusOntario EdTech Sandbox initiative.
